I hate Windows VISTA!!!!!!!!
Dang it! i almost know how to do a few things....then crap crap crap....a new software to figure out! I have NO IDEA what the heck they think they are doing with some of the changes. Plus the crappy "notifications" that keep coming up...I can now decide if I just love to death the Corel picture program (which I hate dearly) and I also don't care to notify Dell of anything which this thing REALLY wants me to for som reason. I just HATE this right now.
(Can you tell I have been trying to figure out one simple task for the past 20 minutes??)

I have vista on a new toshiba laptop, but have only messed with it enough
to know I don't like it.lol0 -
Owned one with Vista on it for about a week. Traded with the wife for her older one with XP on it. 0 -
My wife's boss has a new Vista laptop and can't get anything installed correctly on it. 0 -
Dear Mr. Gates,
WE NEED PATCHES[:D]
already for the car of the future.0 -
Just last week I finished setting up a Dual-Boot XP/VISTA.I had done the same a few years ago with a 98/XP. I got VISTA just to "play around " with a new OS. I put in an additional drive just for VISTA.This made a clean install. I am unimpressed to say the least. It seems mushy and bloated with visual effects, and I have 4 gigs of RAM!!I'm glad its just a toy.....for now.[:(] 0 -
gee, IIRC, there was someone that spoke out against buying a firt flight os. he met great oposition but held his ground and looky here, he was right.
that person, ME!!!!!!!!0 -
Vista is a cheap rip off of a MAC! GO MAC I will never use Winblows again! Especially after the stunt they pulled...... 0 -

I am not getting poop-sta anytime soon.
hopefully if I get a new computer my old XP will install OK on it0 -
Bill Gates is needing a few more billions so it is time to put out another os system because everything new is always better and everybody wants it. Also everything else has to be bought new as none of the old programs work. I just bought a new 64 x2 computer and the seller refused to put Vista on it as he said so far a big rip off and trouble. 0 -
You are doing an awful lot of whining lately...maybe its time for a vacation. 0 -

It's from macroCRAP . . . what would one realistically expect? The words "bloatware" and "vaporware" were coined just for Bill Gates' crap. He and his minions do a great job with marketing and monopolizing, but they can't write code worth sheet.0 -
Vista is "bloated" because Micro$haft took into account how computers get faster. in maybe 2 years they'll be making computers that can easily handle it. by the time Vista gets old and the next Windows comes out (maybe another 3-5 years), running Vista will be no sweat at all for one of those new computers. they did the same thing with 2000 and XP.
also, just like when 2000 and XP came out, anybody that asked, I told them to wait until the first service pack comes out to get the new version of windows. until then, stick with what ya got and avoid the headaches. computer techs I talked to before Vista came out, they all told me "ooh but this time it's different, they have it all straightened out before they release it" yahh right. ...and I was right again. it'll work a lot better after Vista SP1 comes out.
when you get a new OEM computer (a brand name computer) always erase windows and reinstall it yourself if you know how. all that junk will be gone and it won't keep trying to "call home" to whoever.
you can turn off notifications. if it's a windows notification you want to turn off, click on the "help" thing and ask it how to do that. if it's some program nagging you, you have to figure out how to tell the program to stop.
myself, I don't see any reason to get a brand new computer with the latest version of weendows on it, unles you're a gamer. I've had the same 1.4 GHz computer (upgraded a bunch) since 2000 and I'm perfectly happy with XP.0 -
6 weeks ago I purchased
a Dell computer with vista.
The sales people absolutely
assured me Cad programs would
work with the new OS but they
didn't as well as a couple
of othe programs I. Cruised
the web for woe stories and it
seems that these programs that don't
work are going to have to come up
with their own "patches" so I
sent it back and bought a "Small
Business" Cad machine from Dell
that still has XP plus they
gave me a $50 gift certificate of
course only good at Dell. Now
I have a dedicated salesperson
who keeps calling me cause I have a
"business" consisting of one employee
which is all legal and such but a pita.
It's worth it though to get another machine
with XP.0 -
This is why I'm sticking with XP. XP works just fine, it'll be supported for at least the next five years, and by that time, Vista should have most of the kinks worked out, if it hasn't been replaced.
Most of the experts out there (Kim Kommando, etc.) say that if you don't have a reason to upgrade from XP to Vista, then don't do it.0 -
I am almost to the point of needing a new computer this one was built for me in 1998 and is running windows 98 ,,,most of the hardware is still as good as whats out there now and I have memorey to spare but you cant hardly get support for 98 anymore,,,my 15yr old wants me to get this one wiped clean and have XP installed on it for him,,he has a Dell but likes this one better..I know now not to get VISTA,,,THANKS,,I think I will get XP put on my new one as well.. 0 -
My brother and husband are GAMERS and from time to time they get a bug for new machines....and this little spell they go through sometimes involes multiple computers. They will build two ULTIMATE machines and the parts of the others go into all of the computers in our circle....my home...my brother's home....the store....its funny how much I know about motherboards, ram, video cards, hard drives and I can't even work the silly things.
Its like not knowing how to drive....but able to build a car.0 -
Think I'll be returning my vista lqptop today, and considering something
a bit more user friendly..like xp.[:)]0 -
NEVER- but NEVER buy a car or a software operating system the first year they are made. You just became an unpaid Beta tester.[xx(] 0 -
GO MAC OR GO BROKE tring to keep a Pc running.
Had a few pc's over the last 10yrs. the new mac commercials made me curious so i did some research and ended up buying an IMAC. Never going to own another pc Ever. No notification's to slow things down, no anti virus software to worry about slowing things down or failing to protect the computer. Mac's are Plain and simple easy to use. No need for a 8mhz duo processor and 4gb ram. Macs do it all with .Max 4mhz proc. and 2gb RAM and they still out preform the PC's. They will keep making pc's faster to try and make up for Windows Short comings. Mac's will always run as fast or faster than a PC on half the Processor and RAM size.0
