Doug, has she looked into other schools for her CE degree? UCONN has a really good program (DuPont really likes UCONN grads) as does the University of Tennesee. Or, is she set on going Ivy League?

Me too, Doug. She's no doubt been taught well on how to beware of the predators like she will run across at Columbia, be they of the criminally minded staff or student body. And, too, let's not forget that she will be a breath of fresh air to those who share her values.

hey doug...Ohio State has a good chem engine program. she should check them out. plus, she'd have a place to stay if she wants to either escape campus for a little while or live off campus.

Purdue is a great Chemical Engineering school as well.

Best of luck with whatever she chooses!

She did hours of research looking for the "best" Chemical Engineering schools, and picked her "top ten" to look into further.

Even though OryGun State is one of the best, she wants to get as far from her Mom as she can, so it will likely be an East Coast school, where she can be near her Brothers.

She doesn't want her Mom to micro-manage her life as her Mom has done (and continues to do) with Andrea.

Her Mother doesn't even have a clue.

    It's a shame.
