Tampa Florida GOLFERS?

I will be in Tampa at the end of February for a few days.

Any good golf courses? I would like to play some Nice courses and a few elcheapo courses.[:D]

suggestions on both?

    I'm not a golfer but there are a lot of great courses, I'm told.
    If you rent a car, go toward Orlando. At exit 58, I believe, is the championship golf course called "Reunion". A lot of pros use this course.
    Get off at exit 62 and go to Disney World. I don't know how many courses they have but it is a bunch.
    Check Disney world on the net and they should list all of them.
    Also check "Reunion" on the net.
    I am closer to Orlando, so I know nothing about the courses in Tampa, but I'm sure they have some good ones also.

    I work in Tampa but live a few miles South near Bradenton and Sarasota. I can point you towards some courses near my home, but it is a bit of a drive from Tampa. Let me know which part of Tampa are you going to be staying in and I will talk with the guys at work and find a nice course close to where you are staying.

    I'm not good (~100) but if you are looking for some company and I'm not working I'll go with you.

    If you want to send me your address, I'll pick up one of the Tampa golf books and send it to you.

    I'm not a golfer, but have a brother-in-law that comes down from NC on occasion who's an avid golfer... I went with him to a course in northern Hillsborough Co, just off of Racetrack Road...called "9 Eagles". I drove the cart, and he played...It's a really beautifully kept and a very scenic layout..He said the fees were very reasonable to play there. Just be sure to keep an eye out for gators, if you have to get close to a water hazzard.

    But courses are everywhere down here...you may find one even better...

    No problem, I will pick up a new one this weekend and drop it in the mail. Your hotel is near the airport and less than a mile from my office.

    Springhill is like an hour from me. If you make it to pinellas county, stop by knights shooting and rent a full auto Krinkov, or an M16. Or a .30 cal browning. !!!!

    muss, I work at Disney and play a little golf from time to time. We have 9- 18 hole courses and I can get you on them if you want. The regular prices start around $120. for a round but if I play after 1:00 pm, I can get us on them for about 40.00. They are booked up months ahead for tee times so if you think that you might want to play a round, let me know as soon as you can. There is over 25 courses in a 20 mile radius from where I live, so have at it. And a real nice indoor shooting range that opened up this summer just out side of Tampa on 301 and martin luther king. The range is called Shoot straight I believe.

    From your Hotel near the airport you are about the same distance from Knights and Shoot Straight. I shoot at both but prefer Knights. Shoot straight is newer, but Knights has range oficers who actually watch what the patrons are doing. I tend to get nervous when someone waves a loaded gun around the room [:D]
