Same thing for Christmas this year as last year
The "same old thing" isn't always bad!
Went to the local fun show last weekend and low and behold there was a brand new, new production SiG 556 (there were a couple of early two-tone ones there too)
I thought the new one with the factory front folding sight, buis and holo-sight would be a great compliment to last years optic's ready 556 ... Merry Christmas to me!
Of course I couldn't keep it "stock" so I did a reconfig of both rifles ... on the old 556 I decided to put a Super Sniper scope mounted on an ARMS QR & GGG 30mm rings that wasn't being used. I finished it with an AR stock (I can see a Magpul UBR stock in its future), the original SiG 556 handguards, along with a SiG bayo.
For the new 556 I went with the Phantom flash hider and added the nato-bayo, modified Hays Research HK diopter sight, lastly I moved the 551 handguards and folding stock over from the old one. A pair of quick pins and rear SiG style rear sight and I'm ready to roll [:)]

Very nice!
I was just pointing out the December 2007 American Rifleman article on the sig 556 to my wife. I told her this would make a very good xmas present for Maalox.
She said "oh, another varmint gun. After you finish the Vince Flynn book you will have a whole list of new guns you want"
Not sure how to interpret that but I doubt one will be wrapped up under the tree on Tuesday[:D]0
