i could drink a fifth a day when i owned a bar, sometimes a 1.75, a pint wouldn't even give me a buzz, i walked in one day and asked one of my barmaids who drank all the crown royal "you did", now that i don't have the tolerance built up I'm a cheap drunk, a few shots will put me to sleep

Same here. Once upon a time I could drink a fifth a day. My drunks were always strange anyway. It would only take a few shots
these days, so rarely do. Had a few shots of wine maybe 3-4yrs. ago.
and may have a few more shots...one of these days.

    ROTFLMAO [:D]

I can drink large amounts of good vodka (750 ml) with few side effects as well as bourbon or whisky but rum and certain other drinks have a much greater impact on me for some reason. I have told the story here several times of meeting my wife's family before we were married and getting into some serious grappa drinking with her brothers and her father (I really miss that old guy). The end result was me passed out under the dinning room table with the family dog [B)]. The hangover from that event was beyond anything a mortal man should have been able to have survived [xx(].

I can drink as many as 4 Ice Teas in a day, if it's warm enough outside.

I gave up alcohol about 30 years ago. I don't miss it at all.

I gave up drinking over 4 years ago. Just before I stopped, I was drinking more than a gallon of whiskey a week, and would probably consume about a case of beer per week as well. I think I stayed drunk that last year or so of drinking. Now I am a new man and I feel a hell of alot better without the alcohol.

I can drink beer all night and never get drunk. I have to drink hard liquor to catch a buzz. I've never gauged how much I can drink, but I've always had a really big tolerence for some reason which sucks.

ive told this story before on here, but the most ive ever drank, was probably 12-15 Miller highlifes, at Delaware city Days parade, followed up by killing half a fifth of E&J in one swig, trying not to throw up, waiting a few minutes, and killing the other half in about two more swigs. There was plenty of peer pressure there, and i wouldnt do it again.

I have a very high tolerance from drinking expense account alcohol.

Don't know if my tolerance has decreased over time.

Last time I was drunk was in 1983.

Last time I had some alcohol was while I was in LA, a couple of weeks ago.

    Why do you ask??

    Usually did "pairs"..

A "Pair" (believe someone called it a boilermaker!) was a good beer and a glass of whisky.

I usually took a Tuborg Gold (5%) or a Carlsberg Elephant (7.5%), with a 2-3cl glass of good scotch whisky (40% or up to cask strength).

Usually went through 7-8-9 pairs before I switched to scotch, straight up.
Haven't exactly bothered counting but I guess 5+ glasses of whisky on top of the "pairs" on a good day.

Usually woke up about noon the next day, rented a movie, drank half a gallon of milk and relaxed.

As my wife would say, I'm a very, very cheap date.

One drink is usually enough to get me loopy. Two drinks is usually enough to get me under the table. Three drinks and she has to have someone load me in the car.

dunno.. 2 beers is enough, I feel all moldy the next day... or I can keep drinking and my tolerance goes up, I can drink more and more all night, start mixing drinks with mebbe 1/4 booze but in no time that tastes like water, need 3/4 booze and 1/4 mixer, I pace myself when I'm drinking and as far as I can tell I can keep drinking until I get alcohol poisoning.

btw, I've never had a hangover or blackout.

I think the most booze I drank at one time was a 1 L of Kessler. beer, ain't no way to keep track.

Back in my drinking days I would consume between 12 and 18 beers after work each night. 25 or 30 beers on Saturday and Sunday. Towards the end there I would drink 3 beers in the morning before work, about 4 more at lunch then resume my usual 15 or so after work. Thats what I ment by a life time worth of drinking in sixteen years.
