That movie is the source of one of my favorite quotes, which of course resulted in the fight in the bathroom.

Nicholson's character, drunk, standing at the urinal fumbling with the buttons on the cracker-jacks.

Marine: Probably has trouble finding it with those fourteen buttons.

Budduskey: I suppose if I was a Marine, I wouldn't have to f with no fourteen buttons. I'd just take my hat off.

Yeah, it is sad, the dumb kid goes to the brig for seven year's hard labor, for stealing $37 from the charity fund that was operated by the Admiral's wife.

I thought it was fiction too. Hard to believe that Navy guys got their sport by picking fights with Marines, especially when outnumbered.
