Anyone hunted in Canada?

Particually Sask-whatever? My little brother has a friend in college that has told him we could hunt his family's ranch. No one hunts it. He did mention that long shots would probably be the norm. Would a .270 WSM with a 150grain (or larger) bullet be sufficient for whitetail? Any other tips or ideas would be appreciated so we can go ahead and plan now. thanks

  A 150 grain bullet in 270 caliber is plenty ample for deer.

  Check the regulations for hunting.....only certain calibres can be used for hunting deer etc....and I cant remember what they are...you can check online

  I have hunted bears up in manitoba. Trees and brush are so thick you can't see 30 yards.

  I hunt white tail in Alberta & Saskatchewan.
  270 will get the job done.
  I am hearing rumors that their will be an increase in tags
  available in zones in these areas. 12 cases of CWD so far last season
  Way to many Deer per km is whats spreading it.
  I shoot 300 weatherby mag 180gr now for white tail, elk , moose ,and
  anything else.

  Yes, I've hunted moose and deer in Quebec & New Brunswick. Winchester Model 94AE in .356 calibre can do it all! (Especially if you're hunting in the woods)

  I have a summer home I bought from a conservation officer [same as game warden in U.S.] in Blaine Lake Candada, I am told the Boone & Crocket record White tail came out of Saskatchewan. There are more deer killed by road kills than hunters. Saskatchewan has less than one million population, most of those people are concentrated in Regina, Moose Jaw and Saskatoon, N.Battleford, and Prince Albert.
  
  Canada has a small number enforcement officers, however, be sure you have a firm grip of the game laws, if you inadvertently break any game laws and get caught expect a huge fine.
