d/w 357 pistolpac
I have been looking to buy a dan wesson 357 for some time I never figured I'd be lucky enough to get a complete in the brief case all pieces included 357 pistolpac. unfortunatly no-body in my fam give a s#$t so I figured I tell some-one who knows the butterflies I felt in my stomach the first time I handled the gun. the only problem is that this gun has never been fired, I want to shoot it, sooo bad, anybody care to hazard a guess what the value would go down if I was to shoot it.

As for value, it depends on what you paid for it. If you bought it at the top of the asking prices now days, after you shoot it, it could loose quite a bit of it's value.
Now if you got a "good" deal on it, shooting it would not drop the value far, from what you paid for it.0 -
Like Pickenup said it depends what you paid for it. If it is complete and original and unfired, I would try and keep it that way. You can always pick up a shooter on GB for around $300 if you are patient. Original, complete Pistol-Pacs can bring some good money and truly unfired are fairly rare. If you are just worried about the drag line, by another gun and use the barrels that come with the Pac. FYI, I recently saw a EMPTY yes EMPTY, Pistol Pac "brief case" sell for $220.00 on ebay. this si a mdl 15, bull barrel vented, its truelly never been fired came with all the goodies, including belt buckle, patch,paper work. and even 2 keys to the briefcase.
I paid $650.00 private sale, the guy needed money. I think that I would like to pick up a 4 or 5 in to shoot and just look at this one now and then, maybe I could bring it out and put it under the x-mas tree every year. (its the only thing I'll get)
It kind of makes me wonder the value when I see other guns that are of a much lesser (in my opinion) value and quality go for higher prices then D/W revolvers, its strange to see a S/W 38 go for $500 bucks or something like that because its stamped U.S. property on the butt. I know that at the gun shows that you can't pick up a D/W with a single barrel for what I paid for the set so I feal pretty lucky to have found it.0 -

I would have snatched it up in a heart beat too.
You could shoot it all day long, and not loose any value from what you paid for it. But if you want to keep it's value up around the exorbitant prices, some people are paying for them. Get another one to shoot, and leave that one as is. (just like you said)0 -

It's a FIREARM - fire it.
If you're looking for investment, look at the stock market or municipal bonds.
As it is, you just have an expensive paper weight.
