My fun day! With pics.
I woke up feeling shi__y! Did't need to go to haul today because I am finally caught up on hauling and pulling gear. So I decide to do the work on my pickup that needs to be done.

First off, I knew there was an electrical problem, even at idle the RPM would fluctuate wildly but the engine was smooth. So I switched the rotor and distributor. Restarted the engine but still off. So I changed the wires and plugs on passenger side and all was fixed, but still needed to change the driver's side. Did that and life was good.
But then "Is something missing?"

I started on problem #2. The water pump has been dying for about a week. Leaks from the weep hole. So decided to switch this. But I had forgotten to get sealant. Had to walk 1/4mile each way to pick it up from my brother who went to get it for me.

OOH, It's pretty.
Got it out and in pretty much problem free for working in a dooryard full of snow.

Looks like I got it together again.
So I take off down the road and everything is good UNTIL, a shudder, then a backfire, then fully automatic backfire.
I knew immediately what it was, the rotor had spun on the shaft. When I put the new rotor on it did not seem like a great fit.
I still had the old rotor/distributor but about a mile and a half to the house. So hoof it to my house, put a small tool kit together and hoof it back. Switched the rotor and distributor again and Life is Good.
Now I am back home.

Time for some relaxation. Still feel like Sh_t. So this can't hurt.

Nice work!
I would need that 1.75 of brandy with all that white stuff on the ground. After living in Florida for three years I finally figured out why people live here... I washed my truck tonight in a pair of shorts and no shirt. [:D]0 -

Ive been here in florida for 2 years, and its hot. We shut the air off for a couple months in the winter, makes the electric bill cut in half, weve got 2 ac units. Its 82 degrees in the house right now.0 -
I was born and raised in FL...yet I long for all that snow.
When I retire, I'm moving up North...I want to see the 4 seasons.
The seasons in FL are: hot, very hot, very hot and humid and warm.
Oh, and Ruger: You need to do the wrenching FIRST...then partake in the "adult beverages".[:D]0 -
