I've got Asperger Syndrome ... a GB canidate?

I'm thinking of recruiting this person into the rank(est)s of the locals around here - a perfect fit!

I'm 19 years old and graduated from high school in 2006.

I'm heading down a great academic path, on my way to college.

Still living with my parents, but I plan on moving out when I'm socially and financially independent.

I sound pretty normal right?

There's only one problem here.

I've got Asperger Syndrome. I'll make an Ask Me thread about it later.

One of the problems I've got to deal with with this disorder is the fact that I'm an involuntary social hermit crab.

I tend to be brutally honest, stubborn as a mule, rigid in my thinking, horribly impatient and a total bitch in general. (PERFECT![:o)])

Trust me, I do try to talk to people, but most of what I say comes out wrong and people get their panties in a bunch over something I didn't mean any offense about. Either people are too loving sensitive nowadays, or I'm being a bitch and I don't even know it.

I'm going insane from not being able to talk to people where they can understand what I'm saying. (... that's the other qualifier .. for me ... anyway![:D])

My question to you, GB goons:

How the hell can I socially interact without pissing people off, looking like a jackass, etc. ?

Can you feel this young woman's pain? She worth a pitch?

    Asperger syndrome is actually a form of Autism. They are very intelligent (as many Autistics are) but very anti-social.

    cubslovers is no longer considered a form of Autism. It is different. But don't arugue with one. Everything IS black and white. You will be Wrong, especially if they have done their home work. Know a few. Know one will know the difference unless they tell you. Good people.

    The main reason I post on GB is because when my asperger syndrome acts up I don't like talking to real people.

    I'd say go ahead and invite her, but be sure she knows that she will get hammered on A LOT.

    Ok. I didn't know they changed the classification.

    My last boss was one. The part you mentioned about arguing is spot on. They are right and you are wrong.

    if you vouch for her, that is good enough for me.
    i'm always willing to meet new people and learn a thing or two from them as i'd hope they would from me. of course i need to learn something first before i could teach it.
