Train Hits Buffalo In Stanley County
Stanley County is one of the places in South Dakota where the buffalo roam.
But three of them got the raw end of the deal when they roamed onto the Dakota, Minnesota and Eastern Railroad track near Van Metre in the southwest part of the county Wednesday night. The DM & E train hit the trio about 10:00 pm.
Sheriff Brad Rathbun says the three, all from media mogul Ted Turners Bad River Ranch, wandered off after the episode. Reports indicate at least one of the animals was seriously hurt, but workers could not spot them in the dark.
The train was not damaged.

probably never happened before. I doubt trains have been in SD for 120 years. I heard they just got electricity last month, so I'd estimate they've only had rail service for 2-3 years.[:D][:D][:D]0 -
