I got two of those letters in the mail today. One for me and one for my wife. I do remember reading something about a class action lawsuit concerning credit cards but I'm not giving them any information. Looks fishy to me.

Sadly, the same type of greedy folks that get ripped off on most money for nothing schemes will probably get taken on this one too if it's not legit!

This is legit. It relates to people who have traveled overseas and got ripped off by MasterCard and VISA on the exchange rate when converting foreigh currency to US Dollars. See:

UPDATE: Not only does this cover travel overseas, but also if you bought something (likely via the Internet) and paid in non-US funds. I have purchased stuff from Canada and Australia and paid in Canadian and Australian dollars, respectively. In that case MC/VISA convert to US Dollars and gouge you on the rate - or at least that is what the lawsuit alleges.

on the second page it says "do not contact the court, defendants or your bank with questions about this case"This is the part that makes your particular letter seem very suspicious!

Not true. You need to contact the law firm that is the lead plaintiff for the class action with any questions. This is the case with ANY class action lawsuit.

And expect to get about 10 bucks for spending an hour filling out forms!
The 10 bucks will come within 5 years,........if you stay on top of it![xx(]
