HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. - A woman who told authorities she was fed up with tailgaters pulled out a gun and shot at the tires of a pickup that got too close, police said. Officials believe the bullet missed the pickup, and no one was hurt.

Bernadette Headd, 39, was in rush-hour traffic Wednesday in suburban Detroit when the pickup pulled behind her, police said.
Headd changed lanes and fired one round from a 9 mm handgun, police said. The driver followed her and flagged down a deputy, who stopped her and found the weapon.
"She said she was tired of people tailgating her," Macomb County Sheriff Mark Hackel said.
Headd, who had a permit to carry a concealed weapon, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, discharge of a firearm from a vehicle and use of a firearm during a felony.
She was ordered held on $50,000 bond.

What happened to the rule of get the hell out of the way? Slower traffic keep right, that's what the signs say anyhow. This does only apply to four lane roads or interstates. I did notice in Canada that slower traffic would yield to overtaking traffic, even on a two lane. It really startled me at first seeing a car pull over to let you around. 0 -

i face this stuff every day here in ohio. i'm a delivery driver for an auto glass company in columbus. i am consatntly getting tailgated and other things by impatient, careless, and stupid drivers. on one occassion i was travelling north on I-270 just north of the I-70 interchange. speed is 65mph and i was travelling at 70. not too fast but well within reason. 270 is a 3 lane and i was in the left lane at this time when a lady in her lexus came right up my butt. so i slowed down, put on my signal to change lanes, and checked all my mirrors. i do this because i like to be safe and not cause any accidents, plus it's just good driving skills, no one is beside me and i start to change lanes. once in the center lane i looked back and she had changed lanes too. ok, then. so i see i'm coming up on a semi in the center lane and signal to change back to the left, no one is there, and nothing is coming up for at least 25 carlengths. so i change lanes to pass the semi...i'm going 62 when i pass him. i get a call from the office saying that this lady in her lexus i complaining that i'm driving danderously, passing at high speeds and cutting people off. our trucks are gps linked and has speed monitoring. i told them to check my gps for the past 30 min. they saw i changed lanes twice (to let her go by and to pass the trucker, and the top speed i was doing during that was 70 and my lane changes were under the 65 posted, i actually got questioned as to why i was driving so slow). the lady in her little lexus stayed right behind me until we were about 200 yrds from her exit then she gunned it to about 90 and passed me, no signal, and close enough for me to say it was time for her to touch up her roots on that dye job.
i see alot of this durring my day in all kinds of weather. i lose all respect for drivers that act like this lady and people that do worse. those people act as if they and their task is more important than the lives of everyone else out driving. but alas i have no way or power to change anything that would help. so i just muddle through and pray everyday that i'm not in an accident.0 -
Freeways with 38 million are so jammed you can't believe it. The learning curve here [if a gangbanger doesn't pop a cap into a tailgater] is when they scare the poop out themselfs with a rear end collision. I was following a lady blinded by the sun, she rear ended a cop. I would have liked to have heard her explain that to her husband. 0
