Van acceleration vibration...?

I recently got a 2000 Dodge Caravan w/Braun conversion, and it has a slight vibration when accelerating. It's currently equiped with hand controls, but not sure how long it's been set up that way.

I figure it has something to do with either the tranny, or the rear end, but not sure...

    Could be a lot of things. Check the trans mount. U joints. Trans housing bolts. Converter bolts. It may be a cracked fly wheel. Harmonic balancer. A bent or out of balanced drive shaft. Just to name a few. Hope this may help. Good luck.

    Our 2000 Caravan had the same problem. However, at about 55 miles an hour it would stop. On ours, it was the right front passenger tire that was out of balance. Easy fix. HOpe that is all that is wrong with yours!

    My bet is with the CV or U-joints - if they are ready to fail, they cause a vibration that is most felt under light to moderate acceleration.

    Could even be as simple as a dirty EGR valve. This will make the engine miss and feel like a vibration under slight to moderate acceleration.

    Many miles on it? Vibration from the front? Any noise with it? Is this an AWD van? Did Braun drop the floor? Back to basics, check the tire pressure. Try a tire rotation, could be a belt problem in one of the tires and inspect the wheels for a tossed weight. Bad inner cv joints will cause vibration on acceleration. If your outer cv joints are bad, they'll 'click' on turns when accelerating. Check the engine mounts, one of the front mount bolts likes to get loose and break. Open the hood and have someone power brake and turn right & left. Don't stand in front! Observe from the right or left and watch for excessive movement.
    (is my 29 years in chrysler-plymouth- dodge parts departments showing....again?)

    It has about 85k on it, and it don't seem to be speed specific...just a slight vibration when trying to accelerate. Guess i'll get it in somewhere they can check these things out. Thanks guys.

    Which engine? 3.3 and 3.8Ls are bullet proof.
    3.0L is a ticking time bomb.

    I could just be a trans shudder, that can be fixed with a reprograming of the TCM (trans control module). I have seen it plenty of times...I used to work in a Dodge dealership until 06/2007

    vague, but any of those could be the culprit.
    first, check tire inflation...if at full pressure (i believe that tire size is rated at 40-45 psi check to make sure), if vibration continues, then have a trained tire tech (firestone, ntb, etc...) check balance, weight, and toe. check for uneven wear patterns...if it's more worn on one side than the other the toe is off and needs adjusted. have them rotate your tires as well.
