Colt SAA convert-a-cal.
Hello,
I own an Uberti replica colt 1873 Peacemaker in .44 cal. cap-and-ball. As this firearm was originally designed to fire black powder cartridges, couldn't I just buy, from Uberti, a cylinder in the appropriate cartridge size (.45 long colt) and a hammer for cartridges, swap-out parts and go?
(I will use black powder ammo only!)
Am I living in a dream world? This option would be ideal for Cowboy Action Shooting,
I could compete in several different classes with the same gun/balance.

I would check with Uberti. A new .45 cartridge cylinder may not work or have to be hand-fitted by the factory. They wouldn't want any liability for altering the original configuration. 0 -
don't know about a Uberti but you can do it with a Ruger Old Army, with the Ruger all you need is the after market 45colt cylinder 0 -
why would you want to shoot .45 in a .44 0
