Maybe not. The democrats have laid off this issue since they played gun control up big in the last two elections. I'm not so sure that they want to incite those who fell out of favor with Bush during the last year or two, or incite the typical moderate or conservative democrats again. The democrats' far left fringe could be their party's worst nightmare in 2008, if they can control the media on this issue. 0 -
kimi makes agreat deal of sense here. And given that most of the outcry has come from media talking heads and Brady Center retards, I don't think the Dems will risk stepping so heavily on the electorate so close to the 2008 elections (funny how early 2007 is considered "close").
Besides, most Americans are of the opinion that banning guns makes no sense in this time of violent uncertainty.0 -

the Dems are already working on a bill and Bush has already said he would sign a bill to reauthorize the AWB. I think its basically a done deal. The only question now is how many family members of this shooting will attend the photo op with Sarah Brady
