...I can't find the link to the story, but it was on Fox this morning. Two high school girls wore T-shirts to school. One was printed with "Seniors .08". The other said "Don't blow it."
...It was obviously a message against teen drinking. School officials deemed the shirts inappropriate and when the girls refused to turn them inside out, they were suspended from school.
...I could understand if it had said something like "Don't blow it, it sucks", but you'd think a positive message would be welcomed.

...Reminds me of a H.S. buddy, Tom, (now a retired Marine Major) who wore one that said "Tom's abortion clinic. You rape 'em, we scrape 'em." Now, THAT'S in bad taste, but it was the early 70s.

    Ah you're wrong. Part of speech is free. Liberal speech is free. We know that we shouldn't advocate abstinance in any form (i.e. drugs, sex, alcohol). We're supposed to advocate moderation, designated drivers and condoms to our teenages. That would be an appropriate form of speech. "Don't Blow It" implies "Don't Drink and Drive". It SHOULD carry a message about getting a designated driver or something like that. That would be good free liberal speech.

    ...vhotho..Thanks for the link. I still think the school admin went way over the top. Made me so mad, I started drinking early today.

    of course, don't forget that the shirt stating "Don't Blow It" could have been construed as "not to have oral sex" which would have violated the "no abstinence" policy.
