I'm so stupid

I took Crystal up to the gun shop the other day to look at a Browning 22lr that was really cool looking. It was colored laser blue kinda...really cool looking and at a good price.
Well, it was gone but they had a Ruger MK II pistol in the "used/consignment" display that I liked. Steve, the owner, took it out for us to look at and he managed to talk Crystal into testing it out. Of course she loved it, but I just couldn't get it. Now I know it's gone and I'm kickin my butt for letting it slip.

oh...did I forget to mention that it came with a soft case, 2 factory mags, and a red dot installed...all for $235.00? total after taxes...$251.68

ain't I stupid?

    i may go back up today and see if it's still there. if it is, steve said he'd consider a trade for one of my rifles.

    I went into a local gun shop one day and there was a TC Contender with 3 barrels (.223 14", 7 TCU 14", .44 Mag 10") for $220. I walked away thinking I would ask my wife if I could buy it. I changed my mind about a hour later and called the shop to hold it for me, the guy said that it was already gone.

    ...I still have the receipt (and the gun) for a bull barrel MK I that I bought in '78 or '79. $129, new, out the door. It was that, or a Beretta 84 in .380 for about the same money. It was an agonizing decision. The Ruger still has only one ding, from when a buddy dropped it on a gravel driveway. I forgave him, but still bring it up from time to time. I like to see the look of shame on his face.....[}:)]

    ... See if Steve will let you put a small layaway payment on it.

    tap....already did. $80 down, balance due in 60 days

    i decided i need to pay off on all the other stuff first though.
    we still need to pay on...all that other stuff...before we can get anything new. I figure $1500 should pay it all off then we can get our ccw's and some new additions to the collection.

    i called the gun shop and it was gone. aw well, it was a hunney of a deal though.

    buschmaster: it'd be for crystal. but i don't think i can find a great deal like that on the auction side...gun plus red dot and 2 factory mags with a soft case for $250.....

    doug wilson: i never planned on quitting. in fact we had a store meeting the other day and was informed of 38 new manager/team leader positions coming open at the first of the year. the store gm said he doubted that any of the new people would be ready by then...he don't know me very well do he? i'll me ready to move up in 3 months...give or take 24 hours. plus the gun shop is looking to hire me on around sept...hunting season is coming up.

    zulu...yep...now where did i put that box of chocolates...????

    OW!!!! that damn feather poked me in the eye.......
