    my question is i have no money my girlfriend will put it on her credit card the problem is i dont know if that is ok, or if it will work for a consighnment firearm

    to clarify a bit, he found a gun on here. payment method listed is cert. check or money order. he's going to ask the seller if he'll accept cc payment. on this end, since his GF is fronting the payment, would it have to be transfered in her name? if it does, would it be considered a "straw" purchase even though he's ok to own a firearm?

    funny funny.... not so much an auction question though. it's more the second part about whose name to transfer in and receiving it and all that.

    I don't see where it is any different than her buying him a gun, say, for a Christmas present. She pays the local FFL dealer, he and the dealer do the paper work. My wife has done it several times.

    You are the actual buyer, and will fill out 4473 with your local FFL stating that fact. How you paid for the firearm is not germane.

    If you still are concerned, buy a M.O. with the CC.

    Either way, the spirit and letter of the law are not offended, as the law is concerned with who is taking actual possession of the firearm.

    PO will not take a credit card to purchase a money order however, so it will have to be some other money order.

    he's hoping the seller will take cc payment. the gun he wants is on consignment at the sellers shop. he just asked the seller about all that and is currently waiting for a reply. this will be his first gun as well as his carry piece for work so I hope he can get it.
