I just wanted to update those concerned about my younger brother who is deployed to Afganistan. I recieved a letter from him today which is the first since he has been gone (about three months I guess). He basically told me about his day to day job, which mostly involves the slow searching for and clearing of IED's, I may not have posted it at the time because I wasn't sure if he was really o.k. or not, but about a month ago he was in a humvee that was blown up or had some sort of accident I never got the details in the one short conversation, where nobody with him was badly hurt, but they did have to scrap the humvee and they pulled him and the other guys out of the field for a few days or so. He has recieved a good bit of mail from people and just wants everyone to know he is EXTREMELY greatful (as am I). He said to tell everyone thank you, and he listed a bunch of names (first and last) most of which I don't recognize. Several people in Texas, someone from L.A. (?) who is a teacher and also had students write to him, and Mond I know he got whatever it is you sent his way, because he specifically menitioned girls and England!!

Thanks again everyone, and I'll post his address again if you have time to say hello to him, he'll apprciate it. In the next week I'll try and think of a giveaway that I could actually get people to accept the winings and try and get it going.

    I happened to be looking at my profile over the weekend and discovered that I signed up for the forums three years ago on the 13th of April. I lurked for a few months before finally taking the plunge. The first person to respond to one of my posts was Pelican. I was having a problem with a seller and was trying to work out how to handle it. His advice took care of the problem.

    The forums have been a great place for information, friendship and support. I tripped over this place while doing a search a few days after getting the internet hooked up at home. I spent a lot of late nights here during my wife's illness the first couple of years. This place and the people here helped me keep my sanity during an insane time.

    I have enjoyed getting to know many of you and even though I have never seen your faces, I feel like I am among family.

    Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks for some interesting times and I look forward to many more.
