SIG??
Been looking at buying a Sig. what do I need to know?? I like the
P229 but i don't know much about them. Why should or shouldn't I choose the P229 over the P220 or P226. i think I will go wit 357 sig just because I dan't have one chambered in 357sig. I have 9mm,40,45. Thanks for any help

It's all what caliber you want. I love SIGs, probably my favorite handgun company. The advantage of the p229 is that it's easier to conceal than the p220 and p226. Personally, I'd get the p220, but then again I don't own a .45 yet so that would be why. 0 -
Buy one. Doesn't matter which. It will outlast you and your grandchildren. Personally, I like the P229 in .40, but that's my gun. You do know that a .40 can become a .357 and vice versa, just by a barrel swap, don't you? 0 -
Yes nunn I do know that but it did slip my mind while looking at the guns. Thank you. Do you know how much a barrel would run 0 -
Factory barrels are about $175. Aftermarkets a bit less. Check with www.cdnninvestments.com for barrels. 0 -
In my humble opinion.................meet the 220 twins 0 -
I had a 220 under the Browning label - had the mag release at the bottom of the butt. They had a cute nomenclature for it, bur I don't remember what it was.
It was a great shooting .45, very high quality manufacturing.

Own a 229 in 9mm and a 220. I carried a P229 in the desert and can't say enough about them. I think the P229 is more comfortable than the P220 or 226. 0 -
Looking at the Sig website the have a look of differant models in the P229 any one I should look at more. I want it black no two tone 0 -
Get the 228 or 229 in 40 or 357 sig, and with the extra barrell you can interchange between the two calibers with no mag change, gives you two guns in one... 0 -
I think the mag release at the butt is called "European" style....
I bought a SIG P220 used from a fellow who had fallen on hard times, and have pumped over 30,000 rounds through it since...not a single failure to feed with ammo that is within SAAMI specs, a few with a few reloads that were out of spec.
Nothing has broken, fallen off, or worn out. The blueing on the Barrel has begun to scuff lighter, but is still not to all white metal yet. The receiver rails are still pristine. It is my carry gun - totally reliable, and powerful.0 -
My Sig Pro 2022 in .357 sig works great. Bought it almost brand new for $400 with night sights and 2 hi-cap mags. Plus it has interchangeable grips. 0 -
anyone ever look at any of their factory referbs 0
