    If you look around you can find bolt bodies for the 91/30 PU and 91/30 PE, or in other words they are the bolts for the sniper rifles.

    You might look at one of the forward mounted one that hook onto the rear sight base. I think those are around for the #44. Otherwise, you might change out the whole bolt if you can find one that works since the bolt head is separate.

    neat looking scope mount. is that original? that's what i'd like on my m44 but with a a bushnell or tasco.

    once i get that done, i'd like to do reloads for it and maybe start competing. but first i gotta out shoot crystal. she's kickin my butt.

    heat it and bend it,..no bolts that way. Many mauser gunsmiths would rather heat and bend a bolt rather than installing a new one. next best step,..buy a bent bolt, and have it brazed to the bolt body. Drilling and tapping one, unless you are a skilled gunsmith is just "bubba style".
