scoping question
currently i have 2 m44's. i am thinking of scoping one. i know that there are kits that you can make a bent bolt, but i don't want to cut the original, then drill, tap and screw on a bent bolt. any ideas on how i can scope it without killing it?

If you look around you can find bolt bodies for the 91/30 PU and 91/30 PE, or in other words they are the bolts for the sniper rifles. 0 -
You might look at one of the forward mounted one that hook onto the rear sight base. I think those are around for the #44. Otherwise, you might change out the whole bolt if you can find one that works since the bolt head is separate. 0 -

neat looking scope mount. is that original? that's what i'd like on my m44 but with a a bushnell or tasco. 0 -
once i get that done, i'd like to do reloads for it and maybe start competing. but first i gotta out shoot crystal. she's kickin my butt. 0 -
heat it and bend it,..no bolts that way. Many mauser gunsmiths would rather heat and bend a bolt rather than installing a new one. next best step,..buy a bent bolt, and have it brazed to the bolt body. Drilling and tapping one, unless you are a skilled gunsmith is just "bubba style". 0 -
