It's official. M16 is out. AK-47 is in.

If the Department of Defense issued a proclamation today which stated the M16 family was being phased out and replaced with the AK47,or a variant thereof, as soon as American companies were able to retool and supply the neccessary arms and related equipment.
What would be the political and social implications of such a decision?

but yeah, have to admit, my only experience is with an M16A2. I spent a few long cold days at Former Soviet RPG ranges though... and I mean all day, I don't know how those old BMP's stayed in one piece.0 -

I own a AK-47, a AR-15, a AR-10, and a M14. And if i had to choose one gun, I would choose the M14. 0
