HOME DEPOT OVER LOAD
I posted this the other day but picture did not come through. sence they I learned how to post pictures so here it is again. Anyone else have any great home depot stories. i don't really i just hate going to them i can never find any help and it sucks to have to wait in line to pay.
Home Depot Customer
This picture is real - not doctored in any way - and was taken by a Transportation Supervisor for a company that delivers building materials for 84 Lumber. When he saw it in the parking lot of IHOP, he went to buy a camera to take pictures.

The car is still running, as can be witnessed by the exhaust.
The driver finally came back after the police were called, and was found crouched behind the rear of the car, attempting to cut the twine around the load! Luckily, the police stopped him and had the load removed.
The materials were loaded at Home Depot. Their store manager said they made the customer sign a waiver.
While the plywood and 2X4s are fairly obvious, what you can't see is the back seat, which contains -- are you ready for this? -- 10 bags of concrete @ 80 lbs. each!
They estimated the load weight at 3000 lbs. Both back tires exploded, the wheels bent and the rear shocks were driven through the floorboard.

That's just plain stupid for someone to try to do something like that. 0 -
Personally I wouldn't blame Home Depot for this. It's the consumers resposibility to figure out how to transport his purchases home. Unless he pays for home delivery, which I think they do offer.
But I'm no Home Depot fan and rarely buy anything from them. Because of the stories of them forcing people out of their homes in iminent domain (Sp) deals made w/the local govts.to build new stores.0 -

Makes you wonder at which point in his travels the rear tires blew? Was it after the rims broke? Maybe just before both shocks were driven through the floorboards? Definitely after the pic was taken.
Unless it's the same photoshopped pic that came out 7 years ago.0 -

[8D]-Yo big800--We've got a BUNCH of Home Depots around the Bay area, I've found that by getting info off the internet, then go to Home Depot for comparison--
--BUT-- only go on Wed/Thurs/Fri mornings--
--I'm not sure how it is in your area, But in CALIFORNIA the other days in Home Depot are FULL of Pancho Villa's decendents--

That photo is several years old.How did he expect to get home with out the police stopping him.I remember seeing a mexican with a station wagon filled with wooden palletes when I live in San Rael,he had filled inside, then piled them up on the tailgate to about 5 high above the roof line and then piled them 5 high on the roof. The police had stopped him as he went into the reclamaiton place where they buy them.Wish I had a camera with me then.Used to see lots of that with the mexican population down there. 0 -

Home Depot beats Menards by a lot in my book. It started 7 years ago when I was still with my ex-wife. She was pregnant with my daughter and made a trip to Menards to pick up a few sidewalk pavers after she added to my project in the middle of completion. It was only 40 of them, but they refused to help load them saying they would be liable for the overload. At the time she was driving an Explorer! The ex-wife is now out of my life (not that I am complaining about that) but my hatred for Menards continues. 0 -
I'll take Lowe's any day. Always my first choice. Stores are always cleaner and more organized than Home Depot. Easy to find help and usually asked "if I need help" many times while I'm in the store. 0 -
I love the Depot, I buy stuff there all the time, wouldn't know what to do without 'em.
As to not getting good help there, boy you got that right. I never ask a question at Home Depot, beause I will always get an answer, only problem is that half the time the answer is complete bs. I know my way pretty well around the electrical, paint, lumber, and tool depts. so don't have to ask questions too much, thank God.
If I worked at the Depot I would have refused to load this vehicle. What a moron that customer is. That looks like a Mexican special car to me.0 -
Bet he feels like he should have rented the Home Depot truck for $40/2 hrs instead of replacing the whole rear end of his car. 0 -
I had a customer want me to load 4 rolls of barbwire on to the leather seats of his brand new benz. I told him i would not do that. Customers are not always that smart 0
