    That happened to my first one. Had to exchange it for another XBox altogether. If you have your reciept, take it in to where you bought it and try to exchange it.

    Did you have it plugged into a power strip or surge protector? just wondering, the instructions say you have to plug it directly into the wall since it already has it's own internal protection. Microsoft did extend the warrenty on some of the 360's so you may want to call them.

    added: I think it actually voids the warranty if you use a power strip or surge protector... so don't mention that if you did.

    360 is the only thing not on a surge proctector.
