Ever have this happen ? Quick hold your breath,
Last night my wife got home from work around 11/15 pm as she always does. Upon her arrival I always let the boys {dogs} out to go greet her & escort her to the house, they also use this time to do their deeds outside.
Well anyway, We have lived here for several years & never had any problems with them little critters that are all black with a strip or two of white down their back, never that is till LAST NIGHT.[xx(]
The 2 youngest came in as normal, but the oldest stayed out so my wife still had her coat on and said "I'll go get him" and out she went.
about 30 seconds went by & Lakota came in at a dead run straight into the kitchen where I was standing.[xx(]
My wife came in the house and said smell him and see if .......
About that time it HIT me [xx(][xx(][xx(]
It seems as though he thought it was one of his outside cat buddies and ran up to it as he always does the cats. That was one HUGH Mistake on his part.
Anyway after an hour in the shower with Dawn dish soap, lakota came out with very little trace of his encounter with the great outdoors.
The house wasn't so lucky, I've been spray'n ever kind of air freshner known to man, burning candles, farting, anything else I can think of to get rid of the smell including spreading coffee all around the house.
If nothing else works I will sell the house and buy a new one, I have a very touchy nose[:D]

Ever see the Seinfeld episode about the smell in the car? They take on a life of their own. Good luck. 0 -
invest in clothes pins.[:D] 0 -
Yep, have seen my mom give several pets a bath in tomato juice. 0 -
...yep tomato juice works pretty good.
I was in an attic of a house once...the owner, a friend of mine (female) said she had been hearing something in the attic...said it sounded bigger than a mouse...she was right about that.
I went up to the attic, and w/the mag light thought I saw part of a coon in the corner. Went a little closer to get a better look, big mistake, he/she turned and sprayed my azz before I could even try and turn away. Whewh!! Almost made me sick I smelled so bad. Burned the clothes in the trash barrel.
I had her go buy about 5 gallons of tomato juice. Best part was her giving me a bath...almost worth gettin sprayed...[:p]

A guy at a place I do business with had his dog chase a skunk through the doggie door and caught it in the kitchen. He had to have professionals come in and do the cleaning. 0 -
[:D][:D][:D] You wouldn't make it at my old house dan. Had a problem with my chickens. Kept losing about two a day. Thought it was coons, So i set out traps. In six months i caught and killed over 20 skunks. The smell was terrible.[xx(][xx(][xx(]
P.s. There is no way to kill a skunk without it spraying.[xx(] I tried every way there is to kill one without it spraying and it didn't work. You name it, i tried it.0 -
This may sound kinda sick, but go by your local morgue and ask if you can have a can of the stuff the use on, lets say bodies found four or five days after their expiration date. I don't know what it's called but it will take the stink out of anything. Just please don,t ask me how I know this.[;) 0 -

We used about 6 bags of kitty litter and he still stunk up the prep room terrible.[:0][:D][xx(][:0][:D][xx(]0 -
Peroxide and vinegar for things that have been sprayed. Febreeze for the house. Only way to cap a skunk without them spraying is to use a nuclear weapon. Am told by game warden also cannot sedate them without spraying. One of the reasons they become rabid is they seem to have fear of NOTHING- and get bitten by rabid animals. 0 -
Early 80's, newly married. Woke up, looked out the window and spotted a skunk. Thought I would shoot it so I grabbed my .22 rifle and down the stairs I went. I opened the front door and the skunk was between the front porch and our car. I aimed and bang! I wounded the skunk and now he was spinning around, squirting all over the car, the porch, the walk, everywhere. Finally it ran under the porch and died. I thought, Damn, now I'll have to climb under there to get him out. I was running late for work so I though I would leave him there till that evening and then get him out. Got home that evening and something had already dug it out for me. Thank God. Never shot one that close to the house again as it took quite awhile for the smell to go away. 0 -
