First new gun of 2007 for me! With Pics.
I bought my first one of 2007 the other day. A Ruger 77/17 Special Edition. It is called the X-17, the edition was put out by Talo Inc. It is chambered for the 17HMR.
Pics.....

This will be its new home.

There seems to be some more room in there. I already have another one on the way, should get it sometime next week. This next one is uber-rare. I like Rugers and didnt even know of this one till a short time ago.

I'm sure it's a fine shooter and all, but I have to say, that is one UGLY piece of wood!
Congrats[?]0 -
Why store your guns in gunsocks in the safe? It increases moisture for the gun and ups the chances of rust.
Just wondering, mabye you have a reason,0 -
Thats real pretty![:0][:0][:)][^] 0 -
About the gunsocks. I just moved in and had packed most of the guns in the socks to keep them from getting scratched in transport.
I was led to believe that there is less rust with these. They are silicone-impregnated etc.
I have Silica in the safes larger than what is needed.
Perhaps I need a gun cleaning day, get them all out of the socks and oil them back up.0 -
I meant to say too that where the guns used to be, they would get salt fog on them alot and they were not in a safe, just a closet. These socks seemed to keep them from rusting. One or two had never seen daylight for a couple of years and had no rust when i last oiled them. 0 -
I love the stock, that is nice.
One of my ambitions it to be able to make wild and crazy stocks like that.0 -
Makes sense to me, I was just wondering. I keep big bags of silica in the safe and it seemed to work pretty good.
Nice set up,quote:Originally posted by RUGERGUNZ

"To each his own." "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."
"Ugly is as ugly is." New one.[:D]
Seriously, Ruger, I hope it shoots like only we gunnuts dream about. Congrats on a good start for 2007.

I really like that Ruger on the 2nd shelf all by itself! 0 -
She is a beauty. I love the laminated stocks. Not a big fan of the crazy cutout parts, but still nice.

nice, I run a 50 pint whirlpool dehumidifer in the room where I keep my guns and ammo. Works real well at keeping moisture down and rust away don't have to mess with silica packs anymore. 0 -
