Microwave Oven + Bullet = ?
Has anyone ever done this sort of thing ?
I have no plans to do it, I was just wondering what would happen.

I've always had more fun putting bullets from the outside- in. It can be really fun getting WAY back and seeing who can open the door first[:)][^][:D] 0 -
Nothing will happen to a bullet (lead & copper)in a microwave ... a loaded cartridge however may be a different matter.[:D] I think the real issue would be if the microwave would cause the promer to ignite as it probably would not effect the powder.

Metal is OK as long as it doesn't touch the metal walls of the microwave. less stable alloys like aluminum may give off sparks.0 -

I believe a more conductive test would be to have a wet poodle swallow one and then put it in a microwave. 0 -

A metal rack is ok in the microwave as long as it is hanging on the plastic tabs that are in the microwave.
As far as the bullet goes, There is two things you can do to prevent it from sparking.
One: Put the bullit in a plastic tray, This isolates it from the walls and other metal already inside the microwave. This should work, But i've never put a bullet in a microwave before[:D]
Two: Paint the outside of the bullet, This prevents the microwaves from actualy hitting the metal on the bullet.
And last but not least, Please video tape this attempt of yours so the rest of us can see what happens
