Anyone remember Tar Babies

I used to eat them by the ton!!!
I did a search and it is like they never existed!!!

    Actually I hated that candy. Now...the old wax bottles with the sugar water in them...MMMMMMMMM MMMMMMMM MMMMMMM

    medic07...I'm with you! Those things were nasty! I can't stand licorice to this day. Those wax bottles were good. Usually followed a couple of those up with a few candy cigarettes. [:D]

    All this candy talk made me wonder if they still have Bazooka Bubble gum with the Buzooka Joe Comix inside? And remember Cracker Jack having real toys or rings in them?

    In England they have (and still enjoy) "Jelly Babies".

    The protagonist on the TV show "Dr. Who" used to eat them.

    Sounds like I missed out! Then again, maybe not(?).

    I don't remember Tar Babies, but I do remember Peanut Butter Log. You could get them in a large, regular candybar size or the little one-centers. I liked the little ones best.

    Cool... a fellow told me at work they changed the shape and the name to Crows and even better yet may still be available. Hopefully I can find a box. I'm on some kind of nostalga kick doing those kid things all over again....

    The only tar baby I remember was the one from the Uncle Remus story. Sounds like they were made of licorice, and I never liked licorice.

    This place has several of what you guys are talking about.
    Look under licorice, and you will see the tar babies, just with a different name, "licorice babies".
