we have an account with FedEx at work, no real probs with them.

UPS, USPS, no probs either. UPS guy has been the same for years, good guy.

DHL....the driver is an ass clown. We close at 4:30. If we are expecting a DHL delivery, you can count on this buttmuncher to show up at 4:25. ANd I know he is in town about 1:30.

We tell our vendors and customers who are sending something next day air to NOT use DHL. Screw them sideways[:(!]

HACK JOBS, Our office won't use them anymore NO MATTER WHO WANTS THEM. We sent a check out "sig reqd".... week or so later the recipient wanted to know where his money was checked the bank and sure nuff, it had been stolen and cashed. DHL covered it only a few hundred bucks. but we closed the account down for fear of check fraud.

...have to go with you...when your right! Of all the evils...I try to use USPS. I have had less problems with them than the BBT people, or others of their ilk...[;)]

One has to wonder how this outfit is staying in business.

I have not used them domesticly, but they have done well for me on past imports, handling the Customs clearance and USDA clearance. Thanks for the heads up!

They were, at one time anyway, the biggest shipping company in Europe. They were, and might still be, headquartered out of Belgium.

They are owned or operated by the German Post Office or German Government.
The drivers get paid very little and no benefits, not to use that as an excuse.

On the other hand, $#@% 'em! Cause I drive the brown truck.

DHL takes payment for overnight delivery- but they deliver in my rural neighborhood every other day. Left a brand new digital camera on the side stoop, in the rain, directly below the 8x11 sign that says ALL DELIVERIES TO FRONT DOOR, and 10 ft away from the porch covered front door. Idiots.

If you are shipping internationally (especially to African countries) they are much better than the other two major carriers. If you are shipping domestically, stay away from them.

I put in nearly 14 years with FedEx. When I was with them, working in the intl freight side, DHL was our largest stumbling block to expansion into Europe. I see now that the German post office bought them out in 2002. At the time I was working freight, they were THE shipper in Europe.

I have had several problems with these butt pirates. This is the last episode.

I ordered some crap from Dell and they sent it DHL.
2 weeks later I called asking where it was. DHL says DHL doesn't deliver to this part of South Dakota. This is pure BS.

When I order stuff now I ask if they use DHL. I hope these fargin bastiches go out of business.

We use all the shippers at my job. Funny that you mention it, but the manager over North America for my company was waiting for DHL to scalp them. I've never seen him so mad, normally a relaxed and very nice guy. I guess they messed up with a tool we use costing us a ton. I didn't listen much, mostly kept my head down even though we shoot the breeze all the time. He wasn't in the mood for me to harrass him about carrying a .380 today. [;)]
