Starting Price and Reserve Not Met
Why have a reserve and start it below the reserve? Why not just start it at what you want. man, will people learn one day.

I don't understand it but, I see it all the time. 0 -
Yeah, I especially love it when the bid starts at a penny and it gets over $1,000 and STILL says "Reserve not met". I just move on. I hate guessing games. [:(!] 0 -
I agree that it is stupid.
I allways start mine at the minimum I will take and run with no reserve. That way nobody is disapointed and everything is upfront!0 -
i just wounder about these people sometimes, there I.Q. must not be to high. Maybe they think they have to do both or maybe they just don't know what either is 0 -
I love Gunbroker but I think the fact that they don't charge listing fees causes these guys to run those reserve auctions forever with "automatic relist". I've seen the same guns over and over for months with reserves never being hit. They're just waiting for the right fish to come along. If they were only allowed one relist and then had to pay listing fees, maybe they'd come down to reality or drop their reserves altogether. I never use a reserve and have over 1,400 feedbacks on Fleabay and over 30 on Gunbroker with no regrets. I list items to sell at a fair price and rarely have to relist them. Those relists also clog up the search engines. I just clicked "Firearms - new within past 24 hours" and got 11,510 guns! I guarantee that the majority of them are "automatic relists". 0 -
I have an acquaintance who got a "Get rich on Fleabay" book for Christmas. I happened to see his account on his screen; he owed $178 for 20 listings. He's slowly getting the idea. He asked me to watch him create a listing so I could point out why it's costing him so much.
He listed a set of china he bought at Goodwill ($10) for a $9.99 start price, $25 shipping and hidden reserve of $40. It won't sell and probably won't even get any bids but he was thrilled that the listing was only $3.10.
He's got some knives and firearms I'm going to coach him to list here at GB.0 -
I wont even look at reserve listings.
I am not in the Guessing game business. If someone wants to sel somthing then just post what you have for sale and what your price is.0 -
I don't bother looking at auctions with reserves either. 0
