I personally think Tancredo is a "good" guy, but unfortunately he will go nowhere in the 2008 race.
He is too "unknown", and also not the greatest speaker.
This is the reality of the political world in todays times.
I would be proud to have him for a REP in my state though,.......just wish he could go further!

Good points, Marc. Actually the public will know the guy very well before all is said and done. I do agree with you on his prospects in terms of being presidents, that is.

When I tuned in to C-SPAN they were covering a function at the NRA HQ, but Tancredo was speaking from afar, and he was on his way to New Hampshire. He came across exceedingly well as a speaker. This surprised me a lot, but hey, he's getting a lot of experience stumping like he is, and who knows, in the next few months he might pick up a head of steam in terms of likability by those who are in the wait and see mode.

What I like about Tom Tancredo is that he let's everyone know that if he is elected president the illegal aliens know exactly where they stand - and that's on the other side of the border. He's popular on other issues as well, but simply does not have the following. What made him so effective today was his cool, calm, and collected composure. I'm sure that speaking to Americans from NRA HQ put him at ease as well.

It is unfortunate that one must come off as being so "polished" nowadays.
I hope you are right, and he develops better speaking skills as things go forward.
In the debates I have watched so far,......I knew what he was trying to get across, but some don't, and his lack of "debating" power, hurt him.
But then again, how did we get GWB,......he isn't exactly a great "orator"?
This garbage started with JFK, and the so-called "Camelot" era,......things have gone down the toilet ever since, except for Reagan, IMHO!
