    Barry Manilow Madman or Genious?

Let it be known, I think Neil Diamond is the true genious.

"I adore Barry Manilow, from the Kafkaesque, tripartite maieutic lyrics to the intricate subplot digressions attending his every song, to the tonal quality and masterful articulation of every word comprising them. I remember when I first heard "Mandy"; I literally wept for a week. And Barry's hair is to die for".

And the really sad part is that came straight from the heart, no irony. He also adores Beach Boys harmony. So that is one die hard fan. I am sure there is one more somewhere.

I'm not a huge fan, but I actually don't mind a few Manilow songs, although most are crap I don't listen to, as is true of music on most albums. (But my musical tastes are quite eclectic, and my listening depends on my mood at the moment. I've got everything from Lawrence Welk to Nine-Inch Nails. I'm kind of a "10-cents-per-tape at a yard sale" junkie.)[:D]

I was raised listening to Barry Manilow, Neal Diamond and Johnny Mathis, I think that is why I listen to Death Metal now[}:)]

I didn't get the location, but I heard on the radio the other day that someplace if you are convicted or plead guilty to playing your car stereo loud enough to be a public nuisance the judge makes you listen to four hours of Barry Manilow without a break.

If it ever gets to the Supreme Court, it'll probably be "cruel and unusual" punishment.

Wasn't it Barry's amplified repertoire that drove Manuel Noriega out of his hole?
