Fourth straight night of can't sleep worth a darn. An hour of sleep, two hours of being awake. I'm getting maybe 2.5 hours of sleep a night. This is wearing me out. 0 -
I never have trouble sleeping, well, not very often anyway. I woke up around 0100 needing to go to the bathroom, and could not go back to sleep. I lay back down, only to hear Jake whining to go out, so I took him out to do his thing, and now I am up for a while, I reckon. 0 -
sux0rz. all i have to say about it. 0 -
I don't lose any sleep over it. 0 -
Sleep is just a luxury..[;)] 0 -
That's what my wife says. I wouldn't know how she deals with it, since I am asleep when it happens to her.[:D] 0 -
Ya know what they say...you get all the sleep you need after your dead. 0 -

That was my motto when I was in my 20's -- could go easily 30 hours without sleep AND be productive. Not anymore.0 -
I've got it bad this week. I don't think I sleep even 45 minutes last night. 0 -
Oh that sucks, elkoholic. You should definitely try exercising -- cures mine in about 3 workouts. I hear Valerian root and yoga help, but I haven't tried those yet. 0 -
Exercise and fresh air normally work but this is becoming more frequent over the last couple of years and they are helping less and less. This most recent bout of insomnia started on Halloween. I haven't been able to get more that 3 hours every night. Lat night was the worst. I tried fresh air yesterday. Took the kids fishing. (I might post some pics today) Apparently it didn't work. I'll try a good workout tonight. 0 -
Combine it with Valerian root. I misspoke in my previous post -- I haven't tried yoga but did take Valerian root a while back, it does help. Hope you can get it under control soon. And please do post pictures

When I hit the hay, I sleep like a baby.
Don't need no "artificial sleep enducers"...knock on wood.0 -
I sleep good too. I hear alot of people are havin this prob.(insomnia)
I wonder if all the bad-news about wars, cost of living, school shootings etc. have some bearing on the prob. I know it's sometimes hard for me to sleep, when i have something pressing, on my mind.

Could be, but I tend to think that it was a coffee I had last night around 7, even though it was half decaf, it still kept me 'til 5 in the morning. What would I be guilty of to disrupt my sleeping pattern?0 -

Figure out what on your mind buddy, then formulate a plan to fix it. Just knowing whats bothering you can be a great relief.0 -
I also have sleep problems,.....can't stay down for more than 6 hours, and of those I seem to awaken on the hour.
I am, and have always been, a very light sleeper,.....I hear everything, such as right now acorns dropping on my roof!
It certainly stinks, but with me working at night for the last month or more, has not helped.
I am starting to feel exhausted![xx(]
Anyone getting past 40 or so, get used to it.
Seems to be the norm today!0 -
I was cursed with amazingly acute hearing. AND i too am a very light sleeper.I wake-up a dozen times a night, at least. BUT i can roll-over and go right back to sleep.[|)] 0 -
My wife and I were just haveing a discussion about this. I have a hard time sleeping, she falls asleep any place and anywhere, it is often that she will fall asleep sitting up, eyes open and in mid sentance. She said to me "how can you not fall asleep, just try to fall asleep and you will". So I told her "why don't you try staying awake, if you try to stay awake you will, right?". She finally understood. 0 -

That is hilarious!
Same situation as mine. My fiance can fall asleep at the drop of a hat, and she can't understand why I wake up every time she moves.
I have spoken to her in the middle of the night, and by morning, she remembers nothing about it, while I remember every word said![:D]
I envy good sleepers![:(]0 -
I doubt I get 1 hour of real sleep a night...it gets old, but I've been doing this for over 15 years. 0 -

Eric...how do you survive on that little sleep? I need about 6.5 or I get ill tempered.
BTW I'm going to need some caffeine to make it through my 3pm appointment.0 -

same here, it's like my hearing gets amplified, it sucks, i have to sleep with a fan everyday to help drown out the noise, and if i'm disturbed within the first 20 minutes of falling asleep i am wide awake like i just had an espresso, i don't like taking drugs, but a few days a week i take a over the counter melatonin
right now this damn Lupus is keeping me from sleeping more than a few minutes at a time, my arms itch worse than poison ivy ever thought of being with nothing made to stop it0 -
1911A1,.......does the melatonin seem to help at all?
I have considered trying it myself, but as with anything, have read warnings, and cautions about it.0
