[?]ok Iv got problems [:(!] I have a 2000 dodge 2500 with the v8 and a few weeks ago it started lossing rpm it slowed down to about 15 to 30 mph and then the rpm would jump back up and we take off again only to die back down with in a min or two also if you put it to the floor it would back fire.thought it had water in in the gas but no.
It seems to not do it untill it got below a 1/4 og a tank but now its getting worse its doing at 1/2 then 3/4 of a tank it seems to stop after I fill it with more gas and will run fine untill it it gets back down to 3/4 of a tank. anyine got any ideals [V][?][?]

dheffley has a point but if the check engine light did not come on there is no code. In 97 you have an obd II operating system so no light no code. 0 -

A common Chrysler issue. When the tank is low, the in-tank fuel pump overheats and starts malfunctioning. I had the same trouble on a Dodge. Replace the fuel pump and you'll be fine.
I would take dheffley word for it, same thing happened on a ramcharger. new fuel pump worked for mine.0
