His resignation came after 17 photographs depicting children in a sexually explicit manner were discovered on his home computer, according to Arizona Daily Star archives.
An investigation was begun, but no charges were filed because of a lack of evidence.
Allegations of affair
Another officer who recently voluntarily relinquished his certification was Sgt. Todd Greene of the Pima County Sheriff's Department.
Green resigned from the department after 13 years amid allegations that he was having an affair with a married woman, documents show.
According to documents from the board, in November 2005, deputies went to a home in which a man and his estranged wife were arguing over child-custody issues.
While in the home, the husband said Greene was involved with his wife and Greene would frequent her apartment while on duty and use his patrol car to take her to breakfast and lunch, documents state.
Greene admitted to being good friends with the woman but denied being sexually involved with her.
He was given a polygraph test and found to be lying, according to the documents from the board.
He later admitted that he had sex with the woman but said he lied to protect her and his own family from the husband, who he said was violent, documents say.
Certification revoked
While both Greene and Lafreniere chose to give up their certifications, Garcia's certification was revoked.
According to documents from the board, Garcia resigned from the Tohono O'odham Police Department after nearly four years.
His resignation stemmed from an August 2005 incident in which Garcia became upset when his girlfriend did not come home for dinner, documents show. Garcia began drinking and then decided to use his patrol car to go looking for her.
He failed to negotiate a curve and struck a guardrail, according to the documents.
His blood-alcohol content was 0.145 percent. Garcia would plead guilty to DUI, unlawful possession of liquor and criminal damage to public property, the documents say.
TPD, Pinal County cases
The following two cases have been presented to the board for review.

In Pinal County, a deputy was fired after showing up for his first day of work with alcohol on his breath, according to board documents.
Deputy Julio Collazo Jr. admitted he had a few drinks the night before - on New Year's Eve - with the last drink being consumed around midnight, the documents show.
He was to go on duty at 6 a.m., but policy forbids the consumption of alcohol within eight hours of work.
The board decided not to take any action on that matter.

The funny thing about the GB forum is the way it has evolved. Once upon a time the forum was about guns and other issues related to the US. There were great posters here, not anymore.
Now the forum is about porn, whining, personal attacks, banning (or poofing)and what someone had for dinner, and lets not forget the plugs for auctions, the giveaways and the airing of personal issues that are best left at home.
The forum is "pro-cop" because nunn is the lord and master of the forum. Many here kiss his @ss because they are afraid of getting banned, David actually bans very few and is very tolerant, my being here proves that.
The mindset here is that if someone posts something that puts a cop in a negative light then that person is bad and is automatically a cop hater....what a BS theory.

You know, I have made numerous comments about abuse of power by policeman types, and have gotten in to some heated discussions with the members here, about it. I don't recall anyone suggesting that I get tossed off the board for them.
I supported bondai for a long time, but that's over.
Not because of his attacks on policemen, but just because it is now boring me.
I will try not to respond to his threads/posts in the future.

I don't begrudge you any of your opinions, nor do I oppose them. In point of fact I too think that there are many topics that we here at the forums need to know about. I also admire the way you dilligently post about such topics, however, as posted above, aren't there any other topics that would seem to be more important, or even just humorous, that you would like to talk about? Every day on every news report, radio, tv, magazines, newpapers, internet, whatever medium you chose to gather from we are bombarded by "look what happened here..." "this cop did this...." ...and the preacher touched me here..." "...64 died in a freak hot air balloon accident..." "...I invented the internet and it's now causing global climate change...me want to be president too....". Isn't there anything else???
You lament on how this "used" to be a forum about guns, yet you post nothing about guns. If you want it to be like it was when you first started coming here, post like you did then. I'm not saying stop telling us about the misbehavior of some members of the law enforcement community, by all means keep doing it, I just ask that you use a little restraint before your next "bad cop" post and say, "Hey...should I post about this cop who shot his neighbors dog because it drooled on his shoe or should I post about the guy who was caught because he ate a sticky bun on the run with a gun and a nun? Which would the guys on the forum like better?"
To be honest, I didn't even know you liked guns. What do you own? Which is your favorite? Do you like ice cream? If you owned a strip club, what kind of wallpaper would you put up? Is it too much of us to ask that you post something otherthan "bad, bad cop" topics?0 -
I don't see bondais post as being a cop hater post, or anti cop. I see it as him correctly saying that a cop is a person, and a person is subject to the flaws of humanity. That being the case, perhaps we have gladly given to much power to them. Not all are bad, regretfully way to many in todays world are. Just as regretfull, it seems that to many of the good ones support the bad ones, just because they are fellow cop. 0 -

good point, but my contention is there are other things in the universe to talk about without this topic being the only thing one person is offering for discussion. why only single out one part of the population for doing something and not another? we all do bad things or exercise poor judgement from one moment to the next. cops are people too, but there are other things to talk about as well. puppies, muppets, the bird that pooped on the car that resembled abraham lincoln...but don't become redundant and keep saying the same stuff over and over is all i'm asking. if you (general reference not meaning you specifically sir) don't trust cops, state your beef, breathe, then move on. not too hard is it?0 -

While I do somewhat agree with you, the reason is because I think we can all agree that we are slipping everyday further and further into a police state, and somebody needs to bring it to peoples attention.0
