coaches and parents amaze me
I umpire baseball games and finally after 92 games this year I had the game with the parents from hell. it happens every year at least a few times but this year has been event free so far till tonight. heres what we have kid hits a ball and slides into first base and is safe. no big deal I thought then one parent goes nuts in the stands you cant slide into first over and over. Finally after about 6 pitches the kid is on third and the inning ends the guy is still yelling. Well the coach comes over and asks if that was the correct call I told him yes he would have been out if went head first ok no problem. Guy still yelling, well finally the parent went on a mission to find a rule book so he could look it up. Well he was wrong and he behaved the rest of the night

Dipstick parents are the reason I stopped coaching...... 0 -
I got into coaching senior league, you would think most parents can control thier emotions. I like to play all the guys that show up for pratice. If they care enough to show up to pratice, I care enough to support each one of them. On a tuesday night game last year, two boys that missed three straight pratices, after they missed two, I set them down I ask them if they wanted to be on the team, oh yes sir. the next day they missed another.
the next game I put them on the bench. one of the guys has talent, his folks got real upset, came into the dugout, started yelling at me. I calming told him, I would talk to him after the game. no no thats not good enough. he wanted his son in the game. I said no.
the damn jerk threw a punch at me, less just say he should have stayed in the stands. I got a county sheriff over there in a heartbeat. the deputy ask if I wanted to press charges, I said no, just keep him in the stands. after the game, I talked with him, he basiclly told his son, that if he did not want to pratice, its ok.
I told him if he wants to play he will be at pratice.0
