I like all the "rosewood's" but if I could only pick one it would be the cocobolo.

#4 for a blued pistol, #1 for stainless or chrome

I like them all, but #1, #6, #4 in my order of preference.

I'd be inclined to buy #1 from you with checkered double diamonds.

Hard to pick but if I had to place them in preferencial order I would do like this:

    #1 bolivian rosewood
    #2 cocobolo rosewood
    #3 bocote
    #4 bubinga rosewood
    #5 zebrawood
    #6 african padauk

I also was wondering if you received payment alright?
    I assume you did.

I am still going to send you a box of exotic NW wood, it just slipped my mind until I read this post.

MVP you have mail...yes i did...

since there is one suggestive post, and 2 e-mails already, yes these are also up for orders if you are interested.
i have e-mailed those who asked, but all are up for grabs until spoken for. BE ADVISED that these are JUST large enough for a 1911.
so if you are inquireing about another grip style, i will need the measurements of the grip to give an answer about makeing them.

What do you get for your grips?

I like the cocobolo best and #4 as a second.

Can you make grips for a Kimber Pro-Carry?

You can email the info if needed

I have a beautiful piece of birdseye maple (@15"x6") that I was going to use for a project but never did. It is either 6/4 or 8/4.

Can you use birdseye for grips?

    1, 3, 5, 6 (left to right).

I really thing that #3 would look good on a parked 1911.

if they are the same as the standard 1911 sub-compact, i already have the patern in stock ready for order

    will answer these here the same as i did in the e-mails i got;
since these were "samples" and i didnt have to pay the premium price that i am sure i will get when i order actual lumber, i will honor the special G.B. offer from earlier...$65 per matched set, with double diamond or half check if desired, in either standard check or "rabbit track" and will throw in shipping.
i cannot i will be able to make the same offer later if the wood goes higher.
my in-stock patern list is limited to the full size STANDARD 1911 the sub-compact with ambi cut-out
(and a very out of production french auto)
these peices will JUST make it for the 1911s!! so any others must be able to fit in a 1-1/2"x 5-1/2" box to be made from this lot, and i will need the old grips to use for size/outline and as a contour reference...they will be returned same as i recieve them with your new grips
so if you want a set from this lot, speak up before someone else claimes the peice you want cause when these are gone they are gone till i get my order sent and shipped for more wood

so here is the latest batch of "exotic" wood samples...
what say you good folks, which do you think would be popular to keep in stock. pick one favorite or all six if you think they would get interest
each of these blocks will split to make one "book" set of full size 1911s, ( im careful about the size "samples" i order...lol) would have to order thicker for revolvers or larger framed autos

    newwood.jpg

I like the second fron left, second from right and thrid from right.
    from left to right-
cocobolo rosewood, bocote, african padauk, zebrawood, bubinga rosewood and bolivian rosewood

(edit) better pic of the "faces" of the wood and added the peice of "purpleheart" bonus sample they threw in with the order
