How much per acre is land going for around where you live?? The wife and I are looking a 70 acres for 60,000. But we have also looked and 5 acres for 50-60 grand. Any advise on buying land would be great

Land and housing values have dropped so much here where I am in Northern California that it makes me sick. My 3BR house with double lot was valued at 255K 5 years ago and now I am wanting to sell and it is only valued at 180K. I blame the invasion of illegals into the area. [:(!][:(!] True or not, I have to blame something....

2 bedroom houses $28-30k. $50k for 1000 acres if 1/2 wooded 1/2
pasture, no house.
This is south central Kentucky. Look up Russellville,Ky on yahoo maps.

Ive seen it go from $5,000.00 to $8,000.00 an acre here in Southwest Va. And prices are climbing alot of older people who have had farms here have passed away and the land is divided into lots and sold. 0 -
$3,000 to $4,000 per acre for farm ground.
Government subsidies won't even pay the interest on that, and not much more than the property taxes.0 -

There is a 2 acre lot around the corner from me that is going for $510,000, but I think that is a better deal than the 4000 sq ft lot that is going for $69,000.
5 years ago my brother bought 170 acres in southern OR for $25,000, his land is now worth over $300,0000 -

For that kind of money, I'll let you have my 3+/-acres (300'x420' corner lot) with a 1900sq foot historic home and a 2 1/2car detatched garage. Ask nice and I might even throw in the furnishings and a IH bucket loader.

The Chamber of Commerce, 8-10 movers and shakers and the editor of the major newspaper all can't wait to turn this into Minneapolis. Land being developed, more and more stop lights and higher property taxes to fund pet projects. And, the aforementioned are extremely PC about immigrants. A damned shame overall.0 -

I'm seeing the same thing. There is no land to be bought by an individual. Real Estate people buy up the large tracts and re-sell for $25-$40K for two acre tracts.0 -

My 9,000 square feet is assessed at $550,000, and that's not counting the house, so figure about $2,500,000 per acre here in Arlington, Virginia. 0 -
It very's alot in Nebraska.
Sandhill ground goes for very little(probaly around the $1,000 an acre range) Because you can't grow crops in it and it isn't the best for cattle either.
Good cattle ground usualy sells around 1,500 an acre.
Good farm ground can go as high as 3,000 an acre.
River ground goes for 2,000 an acre.
And anything with the words GOOD and HUNTING in the desription starts at a minimun of 2,000 an acre[:(]0 -

In my neighborhood it sells for 100,000 and up.
My friend sold a 1 acre building lot for 168,000 about 4 months ago.
My uncle sold 10 acres for 2.5 million last year.
The 8 acres I own are priceless because I wont sell.0 -
