CZ 452 LUX?

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone in here has owned or does own a CZ 452 Lux. I'd like to know what you think of them. There is a new one in my local gun shop, Im doing a little .22lr shopping, and from what I have read on some sites that it quite the gun for the money. more accurate than a Ruger 77/22, from what I hear.

Please tell me your honest opinions(except DWS, I dont care so dont bother). Do you love it, hate it, or are in a "gray area" when it comes to this firearm?

    The 452 Lux is a nice rifle for the money. It is very well biult as well as accurate. You can also get the 452 Ultra Lux wich has a 28 inch barrel instead of the 24 inch on the Lux. The only thing that I would like to see is a wider forearm since the standard ones are very narrow. They also have an adjustable trigger that is smooth.

    1776-1976, thanks for your imput! I picked it up and it felt great! really solid, but you can never be too sure what the trigger is going to be like on rimfires because dryfiring is really bad for 'em, and I dont do that because I'm not an azz. I like the 24.8" barrel, real nice, balances itself out awesome. I'm still not sure if I want to put a scope on it or use the iron sights. the gun itself is very beautiful, Im going to pick it up tommorow.

    I've had my Ultra long enough for a couple trips to the range. Accurate enough out of the box for open sights, i.e., better'n I can see, so I'm waiting for Eric Brooks' ghost ring replacement for the tangent sight's blade. The trigger was obnoxious enough I went after it following the first range session [read up on the "CZ 452 tuning" articles you can Google]. After taking out all the takeup in the pull weight adjustment it still had more trigger spring than I wanted, so I took off a coil with a Dremel cutoff wheel-- it's a nice 1 3/4 lb. now. The lighter trigger made the significant creep less bother, but still there-- I'm going to put a spot of Wilson Combat's grease on the sear and shoot it a while before I think any more about taking off any metal on the trigger shelf that holds the sear. Or putting in some of Eric's trigger job gadgets. I will put a scope on it, since I mainly bought it for less-expensive-than-centerfire year-round bolt gun practice. Not sure if I'll try any sporter match games, but since I like tinkering I'll also try it with a low-end target receiver sight-- anybody out there know of a front globe sight that'll fit that ramp dovetail way out on the end of that 29" barrel? Basically, to answer your question, it's a fun keeper!

    I have the 452 Varminter which is the same but a heavy barrel.
    CZ makes great rifles.

    And yes, Honda makes great motorcycles.
    And no, I don't usually bear grudges against an entire country for the actions of their governments.

    But that's what makes our country great...the opportunity to disagree like gentlemen.

    Now, back to the topic;
    CZ makes a wonderful rifle. I'd rather have the Ruger, but the choice is yours.

    I hope you are useing biodeisel in your car because 80% of the oil to make Gasoline comes from arab countries who harbor terrorists.

    I have one and its suitable for match grade shooting. I own two more my favorite is the .22 Hornet. I like Ruger Model 77MKII and the Remington model 700 BDL Custom Deluxe. To me they shoulder better where as the CZ is used more in a bench rest with me.

    I sshoot a ruger 77/22 in hunter class silhouette and I love it, but I have only heard great things about the CZ, buy it and let us know.

    I have had a 452 American lefthand in 17 HMR and enjoy it. The price is very reasonable. However, I did spend some extra money with my gunsmith to hone the trigger and hone the action a bit. He also recrowned the muzzle, which may not have been necessary. It will consistently shoot most brands of 17 grain ammo into 1/2 to 3/4 inches at 100 yards. I tried the 20 grain XT hollowpoints and they do not feed reliably in my rifle. They must be just a bit too long or too blunt. Accordingly, I just stick with the 17 grain polymer tips and they work fine.

    got CZ 452-2E ZKM (now called LUX) in .22lr -- loving it though having problems with the ejector every once in a while if I don't pull sharp enough, other than that great rifle, very accurate.
