couple weeks ago on the NYS Thruway
I saw a ton of cop cars heading back west as I was heading east. Couldn't figure it out at first, local, county, state. Must have been a couple hundred.
Then it occurred to me, trooper David Brinkerhoff. His calling hours were that day south of Albany. I was impressed with the turnout.
He died apprehending a rogue gunman. Killed by firendly fire and, when they went into the building that the gunman was in, found him dead by about 8 hours. Strange story at best. Maybe the dead trooper pissed someone off on the "force."
I think I took his aunt to my HS prom.
Seems the good die young, maybe at the hands of the worst.
