Bad day in the PA Oil Patch...

some days are better than others.......road 'went away' with a full load (39,000 gallons) of 10-pound per gallon brine water on. (70,000 gvw) This doesn't look bad, but the truck is literally teetering on it's skew angle. hook up wrong, and it goes over...we unloaded it, and it took 2 D-9's to right it....

Were the roads that slippery, or was the driver going too fast? 0 -
Around here, with the weight we haul, snow instantly becomes ice. I had just started moving, and the front wheels lost grip. (this particular truck is extreemly tail heavy, meaning that the front wheels, many times are 'just along for the ride'. Most of the time, I'm chained up on ALL tires, including the steers.....
I'm not one of those 'I'm great' guys, but I do have a rep as 'one of the best' off road heavy drivers in the area. I'm the best last hope for getting water to 'out there' rigs, and many times when something big gets stuck, it doesn't get moved till I get there, to direct the hook up.

You're absolutely right.....it is actually 3960 gallons......the brine we haul, is anywhere from 8.9 llb per gallon to this stuff, 'heavy medina' which is 9.89 llb per gallon0 -

No, because salt water is already too heavy, and too hard to get rid of.
Already a bit tail heavy when loaded....
Will lift front wheel up on off camber turns...note the I-beam on the frame.0 -

That bromide was some wicked stuff offshore. When I was still green to rigs I accidently got some on my leather boots. I had to cut them off.
One time I was offshore and we had to run slickline through some heavy calcium bromide and we were required to wear slicker suits. They only had XL and I take a XXXL, so my suit was skin tight on me looking more like spandex then a slicker suit. THE ONLY DAMN TIME I'VE SEEN A GOOD LOOKING WOMEN OFFSHORE WAS THAT DAY!!! The engineer which was a very pretty lady came up to the rig floor with me while we were unstabbing the lubricator and started laughing at me in the slicker suit making whistling and hooting sounds at me. Haha I got so much crap off of everyone in my district for that.0 -

never had the slicker thing happen, but in the late 70's my crew went to Salvation army in Casper and all bought suits and we worked a tour "suited up", we tripped that day and we were using oil base mud, tour got over and suits went to the trash can, but for 12 hours we felt like ZZ top, we were stylin 0
