Help with a movie name

Queen of Swords
Anyone remember a sci-fi movie that came out sometime in the 80's that took place during WW II, about a scientist or theologian who, with his daughter (I think, maybe I'm confusing this movie with another) was being held captive by the Germans because he found some portal to/from Hell?

Not a great movie, but not awful, either, if I recall correctly.
I don't know why I thought of it, but I couldn't remember the name.

Anyone,....?...anyone....?
