Take high resolutions pictures of various parts of the bird and post them here for review and bird identification. Sure, go ahead and shoot one, pay your fine and go to jail. These are songbirds and protected by federal law. I sure hope you aren't encouraging kids to take pot shots at birds with a bb gun (although there are plenty of birds that can be legally taken). The ability to identify birds through sight or song sharpens the outdoor senses as well as increases our appreciation for all living creatures.
These are Bohemian Waxwings in their winter plumage which is slightly duller than their breeding colors. Cedar waxwings have a white "eyeliner" which these birds don't have. Also, these birds show a distinctive white wing stripe which is characteristic of Bohemians.0 -

That's what I said. They both have the yellow tips on the tail. The Bohemian is the only one with a white stripe on the wing.0 -

Nope - sorry, these are Cedar Waxwings. Don't let the one photo of a prominent white feather throw your ID.0 -
I went to "Whatbird" and the Cedar Waxwing on that site does look more like the photos than the Bohemian does.
In the Audubon field guide, it does not.
I downloaded the middle image of Warpig's post and zoomed in on the lower bird therein, and I see the red at the tip of the wing, though faintly. If I could know where the image was taken, it might help, but it's not really necessary. The belly feathers are definitely yellowish.
That and the red on the wing seals it, finally. My other final answer was wrong. These are Cedar Waxwings.[:I][8D]0 -
The one with the white stripe on its wing was the only one in the flock like that. It appeared to be more of a feather which was out of place or ruffled.

Those are pre-ban prices. These were manufactured after the bad expired and are post-ban models. Going by the way they shot up the windshield of my car they are capable of select fire.0 -
Looks like a Milermore Bird to me.
That's the birds that bury their heads in the sand and farts and you can hear them for a mile or more.[:D]
