    sorry to hear about Doug, his previous crash was at Budd's Creek MD. they named the hill after him, it is known as HENRY HILL, and if you've ever been to the track it's hard to imagine what he went through coming off the top and landing ALL the way down at the bottom. I wish him a speedy and full recovery.....

    Did you guys ever see footage of his crash at Budds Creek? That has to be the single most memorable footage I've ever seen. The hill he jumped off of had to be 3 or 4 stories high. All the racers were just rolling over the crest of the hill, getting just a little air, then trying not to get up too much speed going down the rest of the hill so they could make the next corner at bottom. Henry bobbled it at the top of the hill, pinned the throttle back and launched it off this huge dropoff. It was a thing of beauty until he landed. He even landed it like you should but the shear impact is what broke his back. He then just fell over - wasn't really a crash at all.

    Sorry to hear about that. I hope he recovers from this one. I've got a feeling this will be his last go around with 2 breaks in the same place.

    My oldest son Moto-X raced for quite a few years when he was younger. It took us too many places and we had some great times together. I think it made him a better person for it to. We spent about all our time together on it. When we weren't traveling to and from a race we were back home working on the motorcycles and getting ready to go to another one.

    Luckily he never broke any bones. We made a couple of trips to the emergency room over the years but for nothing major. Just a couple of trips over the handle bars and once got his leg stuck in the swing arm coming out of a curve which I don't see how it kept from breaking a leg but it didn't. We were lucky that's for sure. The younger they are the crazier they ride. Out of all the years that he raced in the Jr. Minnie's through the Sr. Minnie's to the 125's and then the 250's I'd have to say the Sr. Minnie's were the class that keep me with butter flies in my stomach most of the time watching him race. Those 12 to 15 year old kids absolutely knew no fear. I got premature gray hair out of it but over all it was great fun for the whole family.
