Fawn permit?! Are you serious? I've never heard of shooting fawns. [:0]

In MT, Doe/Fawn tags (varies in Region and sections) are over the counter on designate areas.

Below is taken in 2003. That's me 2nd from left and my oldest son 2nd from right.

Great image FEENIX! Where did you hunt the antelope? I usually get a couple river bottom doe tags each year (late in the season) for stocking the freezer. However, I can't understand why anyone would intentionally shoot a fawn? [B)]

I hunt in area 350 (mostly BMA) in Cascade County. Doe/Fawn tags are an excellent management tool ... and of course good eating [^]. Perhaps the term fawn in antelope is misleading at times, the buck fawn I shot in the picture is almost as big as the adult doe that my son shot. If it's any consolation, it only took one shot - clean and humane harvest - no suffering [}:)][}:)][}:)].

By the time the seasons roll around and some are clear into late fall or ealry winter, the fawns are nearly as big as the does and hard to distinguish, so Wyoming calls them doe/fawn tags instead of antlerless, same way on the deer and called cow/calf for elk.
Lot of people don't realize that antelope winter kill can reach 25% in some areas dependent on the winter, so if they take X number of grass eaters out of the equation prior to needing winter feed then more bred adult females survive to reproduce.

Feenix, great pic, looking at it I see three bucks and two does that's what we do, take the kids and buddies kids, sure helps them with buck fever on later hunts
