What's with the big Scarface craze?
What's with this Scarface craze going on now? Everybody want's to be like Tony Montana all of a sudden. Professional athletes are referencing him in interviews, Shaq has a Tony Montana themed party.
Ummm... Is he such a great role model for our young folks?
Does anyone remember how the movie ended?

He was gunned down. 0 -
It was a rhetorical question. 0 -
Serial killing, cocaine addiction, drug dealing, dying in a gunfight with hundreds of columbians, what's not to envy about that? I'm just kidding, Tony Montana was a dirtbag. I would like to have his Stoner machine gun with the grenade launcher though, just in case the Diaz brothers try to raid my compound. 0 -
That movie was actually a remake from a movie made in the thirties about Capone. It had the same "The World is Yours" statue in it! 0 -

Goodfellas is popular with the Black Urban Male crowd as well....
Can't say that I blame 'em. Both are excellent flicks0 -
2007 is also the 25th anniversary of the release of Scarface. 0 -
Say hello to my little friend............. 0 -
I kill...I kill for fun.
I didn't realize it was a new thing. I've always liked scarface. I have noticed that they've been playing it more on TV for the last couple of years.

You sure that was a stoner? I always thought it was an M16a1 with an M203 slung underneath?0 -
The only thing I have to say is the only people I see completely infatuated with Scarface are the idiot gang-bangers that I throw out of the store on a regular basis for acting like a short bus dropped them off. 0 -

Same reasons lots of people were obsessed with GTA (Grand Theft Auto).0 -
Nothing new here........
We (American Society) have always made romantic icons of criminals. We've been doing it at least since the days of the wild west. Today people idolize the kingpin of a drug cartel, a decade or two ago it was the mafia, before that it was Bonnie and Clyde, and before that it was the outlaw cowboy.0 -
Let's look at this. A Hispanic drug dealer that shoots a lot of people? Dresses like a jerk? Could be the next presidente of Aztlan. [^]

because the african american crowd honor criminals like we do war heroes, and he was a success story, a guy from the lowest part of humanity became rich through murder, and drugs, the part where he dies is irrelevant, they kill each other everyday dealing joints, and crack and is an acceptable way of life 0 -

It was. This select-fire gun is now owned by a range in Dallas and available for rent.
Before you ask, no you don't also get to fire the M203. It's just a prop. [:(]0 -
It also has a very young michelle pfieffer, not to mention it is an Oliver Stone screenplay rewritten from the original 1932 movie Scarface.
Classic gangster movie. A story about a man that rises through the ranks of a gang through ruthless violence, but his strength is also his downfall. The fact that he's a coke-addicted, cold-blooded killer is not romanticized--It's exploited.

Every thug and dope dealer house we go to has a Scarface poster in it.[xx(] 0 -

Seriously, we need that movie for a reference point. Whenever people ask what a two-oh-three is, I just have to ask: "Ever seen 'Scarface'?" and they understand.0
