One afternoon, a man was riding in the back of his limousine when he noticed two men eating grass by the road side. He ordered his driver to stop and he got out to investigate. "Why are you eating grass?" he asked one man. "We don't have any money for food," the poor man replied. "Oh, come along with me then." the man from the limousine said excitedly. "But sir, I have a wife with two children!" "Bring them along! And you, come with us too!" he said to the other man. "But sir, I have a wife with six children!" the second man answered. "Bring them as well!" So, they all climbed into the car, which was no easy task, even for a vehicle as large as the limousine. One of the poor fellows expressed his gratitude, "Sir, you are too kind. Thank you for taking all of us with you." The rich man replied, "No, thank you... the grass at my place is about three feet tall and I could use the help!"

[:D]Not what ya'll thought. [:D] I need somebody to tell me what kind of grass this is. I've asked oldtimers, and they can only tell me that they remember seeing it all their lives, but they don't know what it's called. It doesn't grow very tall if left alone and grows in clumps or plugs. It is soft to the touch, but very tough compared to fescue. It grows in alot of different places here on the plantation. I was just wondering if there is a name for it. Nobody seems to know. I'm not a pro at posting pics and I'll edit this post after I've posted it.Grass.jpg

depending how big your lawn is, get as many goats as needed to keep the grass trimed. late fall get a keg of beer and have a goat roast[:D][:D][:D]

In England the lawns of many of the Parks and Mounuments are mowed by geese or sheep.

Wish for some weather like I had last year. Mowed once, just to make it look even and smooth. Have mowed 8 times this year and not complaining.

Glyphosphate works well[:D] Generic is cheap.

I've been trying to kill a little patch of bamboo with salt for months. So far, it has not worked.

Cut it on the lowest blade you can without ruining the blade of your mower a few times.

24-D kills weeds and stimulates grass, Round Up or glyphosphate products will kill nearly anything with chlorophyll in it, Pramitol or Promoton products are ground sterilizers and will keep anything from coming up for the rest of the year.

DDT will kill insects, people and spotted owls.[;)]

Glyphosate kills grass well, and is in the product "Round Up."

Also, you can salt the whole yard with driveway de-icer to dehydrate it to death right after mowing it real low to expose the insides of the grass blades so the salt can suck the moisture right out. Walk around on it for a while. Lay a tarp down. It'll dye from salt + mechanical stress because the dehydration will prevent the leaves from propping themselves upright again and the grass will smother itself to death if it doesn't die from dehydration outright.

Crossbow will not kill grass, but it contains 2,4-D and 2,4,6-T so it will kill broad-leaved weeds and woody plants. Those 2,4-X chemicals don't work on grasses and other monocots.
