90 update #5 (or there abouts)
O.K. finally got the engraveing obstacle out of the way, maybe things will get going a bit faster? wrong
took about 20 hrs of fileing, sanding and buffing to get those reciever sides flat and smooth again. (wish they were even better, but i dont think there is enough steel for much more removal)
besides the obvious sanding scratches that were there, the sides were wavey! probably sanded with bare hand instead of a block, and some of the fine pits are too deep to get all the way out.

as you can see by the reflections, no waves there now!
(edit) as long as the steel takes the blueing well,(it was done poorly at least once before) the owner may not recognise this when it is done! lol
