Colt vs. Bears

Peyton will pick the Bears secondary apart. Grossman is no Tom Brady. We shut him down to 232yds passing, and held them to 93yds rushing by 5 different players.
Peyton had 349yds. Without the interception for a touchdown the Colts would have won by 11.
This is going to be a great Superbowl game, but the Colts will come out on top if their run defense continues to be strong.

If Grossman steps up and has a better than average game, I think the Bears Defense will be ready for them. The Bears will win, but it will be a good, close game....

Bears played the Patriots 21 years ago in the Superbowl and won. Don't underestimate em' Colts will have their hands full. Should be a great game. 0 -
I agree. Grossman is an utter waste of time and a roster spot IMO but the Bears will make Peyton Manning wish he had a much bigger and much better line standing in front of him. I'll go with the Bears as Manning and company just barely escaped the Patriots. 0 -
Grossman has a horrible time outside of the pocket. He can't bootleg, he can't scramble, if the pocket coverage is comprimised he is toast. Every other QB in the NFL can scramble. The Colts will pressure him and he will crumble. He always tries to throw the ball away instead of just tucking it and falling on it. It will lead to a couple turnovers. Put Brian Griese in and you have a good ball game. 0 -

You're right the Bears beat the Pats 21 years ago in the Super Bowl but,the Pats were the only team to beat the Bears in the regular season that year and also they beat them this year.[:)]0 -
I'm an IL native so we've gotten all the Bear games since week 1. All I can say is what a wild season. The ups and downs have been crazy! I haven't given the Bears credit leading up to just about every game. I don't know how many times I've been suprised by them. That last game against G.B. when they got their butt's kicked, I said put a fork in them. They're done. But, they've managed to suprise me twice more.
To me, the Bears seem like a team that were very fortunate they had the first round bye. I don't know why but it just seems like if they had to go through full 3 games, they would have tripped up in one of them.
As for the Colts, I give Manning a lot of credit but I think they've finally assembled the supporting cast he's needed all along. I think they could get along fine with Rhodes by himself and then you have Addai who seems to work great in this offense, on the side.
One thing's for sure though, without Vinateri and Dallas Clark, they would've been home a loooong time ago. They both come up huge, game after game.
From a Colts fan, I'm finally going to give the Bears the credit they're due and I am somewhat nervous over this game. Two teams who have had everything go their way, put up 39 and 38 points this weekend, playing on neutral ground..... This'll be a good one!! The Bears D better be ready for the game of their life. I thought there was NO way they'd beat New Orleans though. You can't say they haven't shut down a potent offense yet. Put yourself in Rex's shoes though. First full healthy season and he's taking a team to the superbowl.

Grossman is largely irrelevant. Any other QB could play this position for the Bears. What made the difference in the last two games was Ron Turner's ability to exploit the Seahawks and Saints weaknesses.
The Colts also have their share of weaknesses on defense. The Bears played different offensive plans. Even in this last game, the offense did a great job adapting when it became apparent the pass wasn't there for Grossman in the beginning. Their will be opportunities for the Bears offense.
Fortunately for the Bears, their pass defense is stronger than their run defense. A team that can pound the ball for four quarters can wear this team out. The Seahawks did a much better job than the almighty Saint.
As I said, it is fortunate their pass defense is better than their run. They will compete with the Colts.
Cubs, it's not to late to jump to the other team. In the Northern Indiana region it is acceptable to be a Bears fan.0 -

The Bears win so handedly was a surprise to me. If I was betting, I would have bet against the Bears in this game. Their run defense held up much better than I expected.
I was also hoping for an Indy win. As a Bear fan, I respected New England much more than the Colts.0 -

The Bears will win. Because their running game will prevail against the Colts run defense. They will bring 8-9 into the box, then a couple play action passes, mix in some more runs and Peyton "never win the big game" Manning will not get alot of time on the field!
Also, wait until Urlacher& company pops Manning a time or two, you'll really see his happy feet bouncing around!

Being from Indiana I was rooting for the Colts! It was one heck of a game. Both teams were evenly matched and either could have won in the right circumstances.
I was amazed at how much time Brady had in the pocket and how little time Manning had. So either the NE defense is awsome or the Colts offensive line needs some backup.
The Bears and the Colts? Boy I don't have a clue. I do hope the Colts pull it out since I favor Indy and I like to see the underdog win one once in a while.[;)]0 -

...this SB is a little strange. Grossman is lacking only one thing, any quarterback skills. That said, the Bears keep finding a way to win, minus a QB...OR, finding a way NOT to loose...that's why it's strange.
...Manning is arguebably the best QB playing.
There have not been too many "close" SB's, most are sound hammerings. I guess on paper the Colt's have a huge advantage, but...I don't think the Bears have looked at the "paper"...[;)]

Both teams have a geat heritage: both are original NFL teams, not some upstart AFL wannabes; The Bears have the tradition of running (Sayers and Peyton) and defense (Butkus and Singletary); The Colts have the Quarterbacking of Unitas and Morrel. It will be a game drenched in traditions and historical comparisons. 0 -

If nothing else, Griese should have been given one or two sets of downs to work out with after the game was out of hand. If Grossman - who IMO stinks as a QB - goes down, the Bears are in big trouble. Griese hasn't had one play in the postseason.0 -

While Grossman is certainly not a Super Bowl winning QB, I think that I would rather see Manning not ever get a Super Bowl victory. For some reason I just can't stand the guy. I want his legacy to be the great QB who never got the #1 prize! It would be the ultimate humiliation if Grossman won and Manning never did!!! 0 -
personally I don't know the spread, don't have any money on the game Don't watch much football till this time of year, but I would like to see a Superbowl with as much excitement and action as these last two playoffs, I enjoyed both games but is it true Prince is the halftime show? 0
